Our Story

This is a family pet grooming business which was established in 2013 under the name Gucci Pooch. Most of you who were with us from the beginning remember our long journey from Kumeu to Henderson and now finally, we’ve found our place in Hobsonville. We are very pleased to announce that we have come to what we have really wanted and we are finally working in our new salon and we plan to grow further. Lets  introduce you our  small but very friendly team and family .

Kristina Chatkina
{Owner/ Dog Groomer}

Kristina, founder of Kristal Pet Grooming has been working in the pet grooming industry since 2009. She began working as a groomer's assistant and completed a grooming course as well as volunteering at a veterinary clinic for a short time. Kristina passed the Fear Free Dog Groomer Certification Course and has the ability to approach any dog. At KristAl Pet Grooming she continues to work as a cat and dog groomer and her most important role in the business is marketing manager. She loves pets very much and her job.

​Alena {Master Groomer}

​Alena , founder of Kristal Pet Grooming . Began pet grooming in Russia and continued her career in New Zealand. She came to New Zealand in 2007 and started working for one business for a few years. To obtain the title of Master Groomer, she studied very hard and passed all her exams during her first five years. She also took part in many grooming competitions in different breeds of dogs and has won many awards. This year she passed the Fear Free Dog Groomer Certification Course and has the ability to approach any dog. She has done Pet First Aid Courses and she herself owns a dog, a Black Russian Terrier which had competed in Dog Shows for a few years. Alena is very kind, hardworking and responsible, and she loves her job.

Lidiani Costa {Dog Groomer}

Lidiani came from Brazil. She just joined our team in 2022. She does the grooming since 2005 and has an International Grade B Certification. Lidiani Specialist in scissor grooming and participated in some grooming Championships and has also done courses in various types of grooming. 

​Marina Shkytina {Dog and Cat Groomer}

Marina has more than 5 years of experience in dog grooming and also specialize in cat grooming. She owns 3 poodles . Marina is a very kind and hard-working person. Loves when everything looks perfect. She has done many different dog grooming courses overseas.  We are happy to have her here in our team.

Jan Michael Farro
​{Dog and Cat Groomer}

Michael started his grooming career with dogs and was actively involved in the dog show field specializing Pomeranian Breeds since age of 13, giving him many years of exposure grooming and handling dogs of wide variety of breeds. He was also given opportunity to compete in Singapore where he underwent further Grooming Education by Singapore Kennel Club.
He have been Awarded the SKC Class C Qualifications in Professional Dog 
Grooming in 2012 and subsequently the SKC Class B Qualifications in 2018 and Won 1st place in the recent 2022 Fun Grooming Competition by 
Philippine Canine Club.
He has also been professionally grooming Cats for more than 10 years now and has the ability to handle cats with care.
